Spotify buys Podz to improve podcast discovery on its platform

Spotify on Thursday announced the acquisition of podcast discovery platform Podz. Podz is a platform that provides a short clip in the form of a teaser for a podcast. These teasers are referred to the users so that they can decide which podcast they want to listen to. Podz’s integration with Spotify will be completed by the end of this year. To recall, earlier this week, the company announced Greenroom as a rival to the popular audio-only chat platform Clubhouse.

Announcing the acquisition, Spotify announced blog We’re investing in building and expanding the Discovery Experience, the world’s best (and most personal) podcast. As we mentioned that Podz is such a Forum Which helps users to find new podcasts daily based on their likes and preferences. Podz recommends three episodes per day to its users on various grounds.

The blog further reads, “We are confident that Podz’s technology will complement and accelerate Spotify’s focused efforts to drive discovery, provide listeners with the right content at the right time, and accelerate category growth around the world.” “

Spotify is soon going to bring Podz technology to its platform, it is said that users will be able to experience this new element on the Spotify platform by the end of this year.
