U.S. stocks trade higher as S&P 500 heads for its best month since November 2020

U.S. stocks are trading higher Friday morning, with all three major benchmarks heading for weekly gains as investors weigh the latest inflation reading as well as earnings results from Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. The Dow Jones Industrial Average

gained 0.6%, according to FactSet data, at last check. Inflation data released Friday by the Bureau of Economic Analysis showed the personal-consumption-expenditures price index rose 1% in June, exceeding forecasts of 0.9%. The S&P 500 has jumped 7.6% this month through Thursday, putting it on track for its best month since November 2020.
