Small Business Marketing Tips 5 – Your Belief in Yourself

Posted on

We often get asked for small business marketing strategies that work. We often explain or distribute tips to our clients at will. Yet some of the clients succeed and some of them fail – with the same strategy in the same market place.

Over the past few years, we have taken a number of clients to marketing strategy seminars and personal growth seminars where they hear from experts in their field.

On one particular occasion, I was attending Tony Robbin’s Unleash The Power Within weekend seminar in London with a group of sceptical business clients of mine – I had attended previously and knew what to expect.

Over the course of a few days, I experience massive transformation in each client. They began to understand that believing in yourself is an attitude and that your attitude determines your altitude in life.

They started to look at themselves and began to understand their limiting beliefs and how these limiting beliefs had held them back. Tony also speaks about your environment because a lot of your beliefs are moulded by the environment that you reside in.

Mixing with the wrong crowd

One particular client who was achieving success in his business but was troubled by other areas of his life announced that “he was mixing with the wrong people”. They were keeping him at a particular level because of their limiting beliefs. They did not want to be successful, they were happy to hang out, have a few drinks and follow the same routine each day. Should any of their groups aspire to have more, or be more, he was ridiculed and my client felt that this was holding him back, because he had out grown his peers.

Over the next 3 years he gradually changed his peer group, mixing with people who shared his vision and beliefs, people who wanted to give more to the community, people who wanted to be the best family people they could be, people who understood the importance of being whole.

The big shift in the client was in his attitude which directly affected his beliefs. He knew that he had to change his beliefs about himself.

Your Beliefs

Start working on your beliefs today. Understand who your baliefs are taking you on a journey and that they will hold you to that journey. If you are not headed in the right direction, change your beliefs. Change them though attitude, though affirmations, though actions and repeat this for as long as it takes.

Change in these situations can be gradual but it does work. Your belief in yourself will be stronger as you begin to see and experience the positive results that you achieve.
