Simple Energy has confirmed the name of its first electric scooter – the Simple One. This electric scooter is ready to be launched next month. The company says that it has the power to offer a greater range than many popular petrol-based (internal combustion engine) scooters in the market. The company says that its first electric scooter is capable of giving a range of up to 240 km in Eco mode.

Simple One electric scooter price and availability

The Simple One electric scooter is expected to be priced between Rs. 1,10,000 to Rs. 1,20,000. It will be launched in select cities of South India on 15th August during the initial phases. This includes Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. It has been confirmed by the company that the rest of the cities will be added later.

Features of Simple One Electric Scooter

The company is preparing to launch this scooter in the market on the basis of its range. Its unique selling point is being told from its range itself. The Bengaluru-based startup claims that its first electric scooter can offer a range of up to 240 kms in Eco mode. Which is much more than sports mode. Speed matters in sports mode while range matters in eco mode. This electric scooter can also be equipped with features like Bluetooth and navigation for connectivity.

The Simple One is going to compete directly with the Ather 450X. It has a rated range of 116 kms. However the 450X has a smaller 2.9 kWh battery, which affects its range. The Simple One will be the company’s flagship electric scooter. Taking inspiration from the Iron Man film series, it was initially named Mark 2.

The frame of the Simple One may be slim, but the company says that the electric scooter will deliver a top speed of up to 100 kmph. Not only this, it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 50 kmph in 3.6 seconds. To power the Simple One electric scooter, a 4.8 kWh battery will be given in it. If your home parking lot doesn’t have a place to install a battery charger, you can charge it by taking it out indoors.
