Decrease Your Opt-Out Rate – 3 More Simple Strategies For Preventing Opt-In Losses

1. Never Ever share your subscribers to other people. This would included, but not limited too, renting, sharing, selling or distributing personal contact information. This one thing maybe the worst thing you can do to lower your reputation and send people to that unsubscribe link at the bottom of your emails. There are reasons why spammers have such a bad reputation and you give your subscribers information to these people you will be no better than the spammer. Do you really want people blogging about how the experience they had with you gave a negative impact on their life?

2. Everyone like to feel special, why not make your subscribers feel special? These are the people that should know about your new products. It is good business sense to offer a real discount to your list, your conversions will go through the roof and you will have people feeling good and special about being on your list. When you put out free content they should be the first to know about that content. Make some of your content exclusive to your list members.

3. Try to get more than just an email address. Go for people’s name too. With all the free ways to get email address these days, simply ask for their primary email and first name. I do not recommend asking for phone numbers unless they have bought something from you in excess of $187. People will become very weary of someone asking for their phone number.

Bonus Tip

Give your list members with awesome content. Really think about the content that you are producing. The more quality the content has the more people will remember that content. PDFs and videos on “how to” do something is great for valuable free content. Something that is easy to implement is ideal. Also content that solves a pressing issue that they are having is worth making.
