Why is it people think we have to use the old slow and burdensome strategies in building our network marketing business. We need a paradigm shift in our industry. We need to flush our brains of the old-fashioned business building techniques that were used in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

Why do we need a paradigm shift? In the decades I just mentioned we didn’t have a mature Internet to help us reach massive communities and promote ourselves online. So what did people before us do? They invited people over to their houses, sat up a white board and started drawing circles. The home party was the fastest way to reach excited and eager new prospects.

I remember going to a few of these parties when I was a teenager. My parents were invited to a few and when the deal was done they went home excited about what they had just seen. Then my parents realized they were going to have do the same type parties with presentations and they quickly changed their minds.

Many leaders in the network marketing industry became wealthy by doing these type presentations. The negative part about this type of growth was it took time and a ton of presentations to see any results. Then came the Internet.

The Internet wasn’t embraced immediately by network marketers and today is still frowned upon by some MLM companies. As the 90’s turned into the new millennium more distributors of multi-level companies new there had to be a way to take advantage of this new Internet phenomenon. Hence the term online marketing.

Online marketing has grown steadily. Some people have whole-heartedly embraced it and others have run from it. The savvy marketer can take the Internet with all of its interfaces and sprawling communities and build an organization super fast. The speed of building these teams has boggled even the minds of veteran network gurus.

We are in dire need of a paradigm shift. Even though people are embracing we should be totally engrossed with the development of the Internet. I see a future Internet that lets us interact in real-time with all of our team members just as if we were standing in their living rooms. White boards will have given way to drag and drop mid-air boards.

If we can have gaming devices with hands-free mechanisms we can have communities or virtual worlds for marketers. I know this is forward thinking but to stay alive in the marketing game you have to think ahead. Open up your mind to all the possibilities and you never know what could happen next.
