A $1.3 billion company that is traded on the NSE has caused quite a stir lately in the anti-aging market. Two products in particular, the galvanic spa and the ageLOC Future Serum, have gained popularity among many who are seeking the secret to looking younger.

Both products come from Nu Skin Enterprises, a twenty-five year old, publicly traded company who’s stock recently shot up from $7 to $27. As a result many people are curious as to what exactly is going on to cause such incredible growth. Major news stations such as CBS, Fox, and The Today Show have all reported on their patented, handheld device called the galvanic spa.

So what exactly is the galvanic spa and ageLOC? Why are so many people going “crazy” for these products? Is it just a fad or is there something truly remarkable here that is worth paying attention too?

First, let’s review the galvanic spa. Galvanic treatments are nothing new. They have been around for over a hundred years. It all started with a scientist by the name of Luigi Galvani who accidentally discovered that when the sciatic nerve of a dead frog is exposed to static electricity it causes the frog’s leg to move.

This interaction, which Galvani recreated successfully, led to his observation that there was an important relationship between electricity and animation, or life. Over the next several years, Galvani continued to explore the use of electric currents for health benefits in the body, most notably the skin.

So who do galvanic currents work in a spa setting? We know that like charges repel each other and opposites attract. Consequently, by formulating products to possess a specific charge and using mild, safe and pain-free electrical currents of the same charge, the currents are able to “push” the product into the skin, which facilitates the delivery of key nutrients included in that product.

Nu Skin is not the originator of galvanic treatments. Many wealthy people have been paying hundreds of dollars per treatment for a long time to help them remove wrinkles and look younger. All Nu Skin did was create an award-winning, patented, handheld device that delivers all the benefits of regular galvanic spa treatments except you never have to leave your home!

In other words, the Nu Skin galvanic spa has reduced the price of galvanic treatments to about $10 a treatment. Plus, you are able to do it in less than ten minutes and all within the comfort of your own home. Obviously, something like this has mass appeal and is gaining attraction among hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

Okay, so that is a brief overview of the Nu Skin galvanic spa. Now what about ageLOC? What is ageLOC? Why are people so excited about it? What does it do?

Simply put, ageLOC is the science of targeting aging at its source. Nu Skin has been working with Stanford University, Purdue University, and LifeGen Technologies and has discovered what they are calling, “youth gene clusters”. No other company has ever been able to identify these gene clusters that affect our aging process.

To say this is a big discovery would be an understatement. When it comes to aging, this could be the biggest discovery of the century. Nu Skin has developed a scientific platform called ageLOC whereby they are able to reset these “youth gene clusters” to a more youthful state.

The result is nothing short of miraculous. Many people that are using the ageLOC products are reporting the look of their age being reduced by five, ten, even twenty years.

But, Dr. Joe Chang, the Chief Scientific Officer for Nu Skin, says that the new ageLOC skin care product line is just the tip of the iceberg. Apparently, Nu Skin is looking at incorporating their ageLOC science into nutrition, which means that they will be able reset genes to a more youthful state within your body!

The implications of this are far reaching. As you can see, there is a reason Nu Skin’s stock has gone from $7 to $27 over the last few months. Nu Skin’s future over the next ten years is looking very bright.
