This is Ford’s third electric vehicle (EV) after the Mustang Mach-E SUV and the e-Transit van. The American carmaker has made the F-150 Lightning in three variants, which are XLT, Lariat and Platinum. But as of now, there is no information on whether Ford will launch this EV in other markets outside the US as well.

Ford F-150 Lightning Pick-up Truck Keys Cost $40,000 (approximately Rs 29 lakh) which includes the base variant XLT. The XLT variant is designed for commercial use. Ford says that the price of the mid-range XLT variant can go up to $53,000 (about Rs 39 lakh). Its deliveries will begin by the spring of 2022.

The F-150 Lightning churns out 563 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque, which helps the truck go from 0 to 100 in 4 seconds. The basic version of the Ford vehicle has an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimated range of up to 230 miles, or 370 kilometers. With the extended range battery pack, it can be extended up to 300 miles or 480 kms. Ford says the truck’s software gives real-time range estimates. This vehicle can be recharged at a 150kW DC fast charging station which is easily searchable in the FordPass smartphone app. At home, it can be recharged from a 240-volt outlet that can provide speeds of up to 14 miles or 22 kilometers per hour. Ford is also offering an 80 amp home charging station with the additional battery pack version.
With the additional battery pack, the company says it will have a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds (4,500 kg), which is slightly more than its base model. The base variant has a pay-load capacity of 2000 lb (900 kg). Which can be placed on a flatbed or in the front trunk of the truck.

Ford has claimed what is said to power the house. The company has said that this is made possible by intelligent backup power powered by its 80 ampere Ford charge station and home management system. With this system using an extended range battery pack, it can power a home for up to three days. The F-150 Lightning automatically switches between the charging house and the battery.
Talking about the interiors, the Ford F-150 Lightning sports a 15.5-inch touch screen. It is powered by Ford’s SYNC 4A in Lariat and Platinum variants. It has wireless availability of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, integrated Amazon Alexa and the Sync Applink app. It will also come with the option of Phone As A Key in select variants. Activating this option will enable the owner to lock, unlock and start the vehicle without taking out the phone or key fob from the pocket.
