The 85km range Bajaj Chetak on a single charge will start deliveries before the festive season!
Bajaj Chetak is being liked a lot in India. The first electric scooter of the Indian automobile company offers powerful features along with beautiful design. This is the reason that from time to time the company has to close its booking due to the tremendous demand immediately after its booking opens. For some time now, the booking of this electric scooter was being taken in two states of the country and no official date was issued by the company regarding its delivery. Now media reports say that the delivery of Chetak electric scooter (Bajaj Chetak EV) will start from the third quarter of this year.

Bajaj Auto in its 2020-21 Annual Report has said that the deliveries of the company’s Bajaj Chetak EV are likely to start from the third quarter of September, just before the start of the festive season in India. So far, the company has kept the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter on booking only. In that too, within 48 hours of the start of booking of Chetak on April 13, booking was stopped due to high demand.

Bajaj has said in its annual report for 2020-21 that the company can start deliveries of this electric scooter during the second quarter of FY 2022. Former chairman of the company Rahul Bajaj says that the initial booking of Chetak, which started in 2020, had to be stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, as we mentioned, the bookings that started in April had to be put on hold due to the alleged high demand. Currently, this scooter is being sold only in Pune and Bangalore. However, it will soon be sold in Chennai and Hyderabad.

The Bajaj Chetak comes in two variants, with the Urban model priced at Rs 1.15 lakh and the premium model priced at Rs 1.20 lakh. Bajaj Chetak Electric is powered by a 4.8kW power motor, which generates peak torque of 16Nm and maximum power of 6.44bhp. Thanks to this, the Chetak can reach a top speed of 70Kmph. The scooter gets a 3kWh capacity battery, which is capable of delivering a range of 95Km in Eco mode and 85Km in Sport mode. The company claims that it takes 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged. The regular 5A power socket can be used for charging, which is a good thing. The company has also claimed that the Chetak scooter can be charged up to 25 percent in just 1 hour.
