Americans love their sandwiches, from Philly cheesesteaks to New England-style lobster rolls. But in these inflationary times, they probably don’t love having to shell out even more for them: Your standard full-size sub can often cost $10-plus these days.
Which is why there’s a reason to cheer National Sandwich Day on Nov. 3. To mark the occasion, many sandwich chains are offering discounts and buy-one-get-one-free promos. Here are some of this year’s deals — all offers are available on Nov. 3, but some started before and some extend beyond National Sandwich Day itself.
Subway
The sandwich giant, with more than 20,000 locations in the U.S., is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on any foot-long sub — a promotion it launched on Nov. 1. Customers must use the FLBOGO promo code on Subway.com or the Subway app. But if you happen to be traveling on Nov. 3, Subway has another offer: If you’re flying in the middle — or “sandwich” — seat, the chain is inviting you to visit SubwaySandwichSeat.com and upload an image of yourself in said location. From there, Subway will select 10,000 of those “sandwich seaters” to receive a gift card.
McAlister’s Deli
The McAlister’s Deli chain also has a buy-one-sandwich-get-one-free promotion for members of its rewards program (if you’re not a member already, you can download the app). You must use the code SANDWICH22 when redeeming. The offer expires Nov. 17.
Quiznos
The sandwich chain is rolling out a “Q Pass” promotion for new and existing members of its Toasty Points rewards program. Here’s how it works: Purchase a Q Pass for $12 between Nov. 3 and Nov. 17, and save $3 off the purchase of any $12-inch sub for a 30-day period.
Schlotzsky’s
The fast-casual restaurant company is offering $5 off any medium-size sandwich for those who use the Schlotzky’s app. There’s a limit of five discounted sandwiches per purchase.
Potbelly Sandwich Shop
The Potbelly Sandwich Shop
PBPB,
chain is featuring a buy-one-get-one free sandwich promotion, available through Potbelly.com or the Potbelly app.
Jersey Mike’s Subs
Sandwiches are still full-price, but this chain is offering free delivery on all orders placed through the Jersey Mike’s app. The deal runs from Nov. 3 through Nov. 7.
Jimmy John’s
The chain recently introduced its limited-time “All-American Beefy Crunch” sandwich — and while it’s not offering any savings on National Sandwich Day, feeding your sandwich fix can help more than yourself. Jimmy John’s says that all sales of this particular menu item on Nov. 3 will benefit the Jimmy John’s Foundation, which is a partner of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Popeyes
Sure, we think of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen
QSR,
for more than just sammies, but it is particularly known for its chicken sandwich. Starting on National Sandwich Day and running through National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day (yes, there’s such a thing — it’s on Nov. 9), Popeyes is offering a free chicken sandwich with the purchase of a chicken-sandwich combo. The offer is available for mobile order pick-up and delivery through the Popeyes app or popeyes.com.
